Yas, Insecure, yas!!! Call Molly out on her nasty attitude…

Okay, let’s start from the top, this episode is called Ghost- Like. Issa is turning 30 and Molly decides to take her to see a movie which has a ghost- like theme and is held in a cemetery. Molly goes to get Issa to take her to the event and sees Nathan walking up to Issa’s place with flowers in hand. Molly runs up to Nathan and recommends that he just go away because she’s not gonna have him mess up Issa’s birthday after he’s been MIA for a month. So Nathan heeds Molly’s warning and leaves and Molly and Issa head to a cemetery to watch the movie. They meet Kelli there and it’s an overall good vibe in a predominantly black space.

While there, Molly runs into Jared, a guy from a previous season who she cut off because the guy admitted that a man once performed oral sex on him. As she is talking to Jared, a man comes up and talks to Jared and Molly assumes it’s Jared’s boyfriend and awkwardly runs away. She reports back to Issa and says her instincts are always right and that she is knew he was gay. Meanwhile, Issa runs into Lawrence who wishes her a happy birthday and she shares with him that she is no longer interested in throwing a block party because it entailed too much work. Lawrence seems to be disappointed as he was looking forward to working on it with Issa.

Anyway, the event ends and Issa takes the opportunity to speak to the woman who organized it. The woman was actually at Tiffany’s baby shower so they are vaguely familiar with each other. They agree to meet up at another time so that Issa can get some pointers.

In a later scene, Molly and Issa are chilling and Molly reveals that she chased Nathan away. Issa explodes saying that Molly assumes the worse in people and that Molly should have allowed her to handle the situation. She mentions Molly screwing people at work over and assuming that Jared was with his boyfriend when in fact the man was his brother and Jared was actually at the movie with his girlfriend as well. Issa explains she isn’t like Molly and that she likes to give people a chance.

Nathan winds up reaching out to Issa again and they meet. Nathan explains that he had some issues that he had to deal with and he didn’t want Issa to see him in a sunken place and that he went home for a month. Issa then tells Nathan that he could have at least given her a heads up to which I agree. Nathan says he’s back for sure but why should Issa believe him or give him a second chance? I was glad that Issa listened to him and then went back home and arranged her apartment in peace which was a stark contrast to last season when she was tearing down her old place.

Molly on the other hand is hated at her new firm bright and early thanks to her get ahead at any costs attitude. However, her discussion with Issa causes her to call Andrew and try to work things out. I think that Molly should let the Andrew thing rest because she is not attracted to him and that is completely fine.

Also, we see the woman who is helping Issa organize her block party go on a date with Lawrence…

I LOVED this episode. Molly got the appropriate drag that she should have. I have always believed that Molly is a friend that you can only like for a few redeeming qualities such as being supportive to you specifically but overall she’s a terrible person.

On the other hand, it’s great to see Issa become more independent not only with having her own place but not being accepting of the people treating her wrongly.

We have something to look forward to for the next season such as the Lawrence, new girl and Issa dynamic and whether Nathan and Issa will be an item so I think this was a great way to close the season.
